Tool Highlight: Non-Traditional Cartomancy & Real-Talk Tarot
The Universe has a message for you. Let’s translate it together.
Forget memorizing century-old symbols or feeling like you need a degree in mysticism to get a clear answer to your conflicts and dilemmas. If you’ve ever felt intimidated by standard, traditional tarot decks, you’re in the right place!
While I’ve been reading cards since I was 16, my absolute favorite way to work is through non-traditional cartomancy. My absolute go-to deck features real-life imagery–think “The Used Hybrid” parked in a dusty junkyard, or “The Conspiracy Theorist” with red strings connecting photos and sticky notes on a corkboard. Why? Because real life isn’t lived in abstract medieval symbols. It’s lived right here, right now. Breaking away from rigid definitions allows the Universe’s natural flow and my intuitive energy to connect directly to your exact situation without the fluff of having to memorize 78 card meanings on top of putting an interpretation to those meanings that can feel too rigid at times.
My Philosophy: The Seeker, Me, & The Universe
I view my role as a direct messenger. I don’t work with specific deities. Instead, I connect with the Universe as a whole. You bring your heart and your real-world questions, and I use the cards to translate the messages, patterns, and validation the Universe is trying to hand you.
Real Talk on “Scary” Cards
We don’t do doomsday panicking here! When I do use traditional tarot decks, I like to make sure that you don’t panic or feel anxiety, or that we at least nip those feelings in the bud if they do happen, when “scary” or misunderstood cards show up. In the very near future, I’ll be posting a series of blog posts discussing misunderstood tarot cards, with each of these “scary” cards getting their own spotlight for a post. So, definitely keep an eye out for those posts to show up on my page! For now, let’s look briefly at a couple of examples:
Death isn’t a scary ending… It’s a cosmic reset button. It means the Universe is recycling the old stuff that isn’t working so you can loop back around to a fresh, clean start.
The Tower? Look… I won’t sugarcoat it… It’s sudden, aggressive upheaval, and it can feel stressful! But even chaotic shifts (a sudden career pivot, a surprise life change, etc.) happen to clear the room for what’s actually meant for you.
When heavy cards show up, we slow down, take a breath, and unpack every single question you have until you feel grounded.
What a Session Feels Like With Me
No Rigid Spreads: I don’t force your life into pre-made boxes. We chat about what’s going on and I pull cards intuitively (usually 3-5) to let the story flow naturally while answering questions and doing my very best to give the advice and messages the Universe has for you.
Clarity Layering: Need deeper insight on a specific card? No problem! I’ll overlay a clarifying card right over it until the picture is crystal clear.
Head & Heart Alignment: Whether we’re mapping out a timeline or balancing what your mind is telling you versus what your heart knows, the cards meet you right where you are.
What Tarot Is Best Used For:
Life Path Navigation: Checking in to see if you’re aligned with your path… or making sense of things when the Universe is tumbling you through a chaotic phase.
Deep Self-Reflection & Unconscious Blind Spots: Bringing up the sneaky thoughts or truths your subconscious has been hiding from you.
Big Decisions & Real-World Validation: Unpacking the full story behind where you are and where you’re headed.
(Note: If you just need a quick, straight-up Yes or No, ask me about my Pendulum work instead–we save the cards for the deep, rich conversations!)
May the Universe bless your life path and show you your way with clarity. :)
Tool Highlight: Pendulum & Pendulum Board Precision
For when you need direct, laser-focused clarity.
While cards give us the big picture and the deep narrative, my pendulum is all about direct, specific precision. It’s the tool I reach for when we need to cut straight to the point or pinpoint details that are hiding in plain sight.
Respecting the Craft & The Tools
To me, being a reader means being a dedicated messenger for the Universe. Every session starts with deliberate preparation: clearing space, setting intentions, and taking the time to ground myself and connect thoughtfully with my tools before I begin the first reading of the session. This is a super abridged version of my preparation and I will have a blog post up very soon discussing my reading session set-up and deconstruction rituals. For now, all you need to know for this post is that I treat the process with deep care and respect because bringing you clear, accurate validation is something I take seriously.
How I Use the Pendulum
The Map & The Needle: My pendulum board acts like a map, giving us access to specific answers, ranging from clear yes/no/maybe confirmations to letters, numbers, days of the week, and general times of the day.
Targeted Detail Work: If a reading brings up a situation, timeframe, or person that feels a little fuzzy, the pendulum helps narrow things down (i.e., pinpointing a specific initial or a key day of the week to pay attention to).
Complementary Clarity: It serves as a fantastic precision add-on to a card reading when you want to lock in specifics without overcomplicating the conversation.
What the Pendulum is Best Used For:
Direct, specific queries that need clear, focused answers.
Pinpointing practical details (days, letters, numbers, or quick check-ins).
Getting sharp, instant clarity to complement a deeper card reading.
May the Universe bless your life path and show you your way with clarity. :)
Tool Highlights: Non-Traditional Decks & Oracle Cards
Ditching medieval rules for real-world clarity.
If traditional tarot has ever left you feeling lost, confused by medieval symbols, or overwhelmed by 78 rigid definitions, you are going to love how I read.
Intuitive Accessibility
Traditional tarot was made centuries ago for medieval problems. For many of us, especially neurodivergent minds, trying to memorize decades of static book meanings feels restrictive and exhausting. I believe cartomancy and divination should be accessible, intuitive, and immediately understandable.
That’s why I rely primarily on non-traditional cartomancy and oracle decks (like my favorite, Real Life Tarot). Instead of flipping through mental cheat sheets or forcing a card into a rigid textbook meaning, these decks allow me to drop straight into intuitive flow.
Modern Imagery for Modern Problems
We don’t live in castles or fight dragon-slaying battles (at least not the majority of us on this planet). We navigate modern relationships, career burnout, life pivots, car breakdowns, and daily stress. When a card pops up with a junker car in a scrap yard or a corkboard with red strings connecting photos, the message hits instantly.
Direct Relatability: The imagery speaks directly to where you are right now in plain, clear language.
Layered Storytelling: For targeted sessions, like relationship or twin flame readings, I’ll stack and mix complementary decks to bring out specific messages between you and another person, with their consent.
No Mystical Gatekeeping: What you see on the card is part of the conversation. It creates a collaborative, down-to-earth space where we unpack the Universe’s message together.
What Non-Traditional & Oracle Decks Are Best Used For:
Practical, real-world guidance without the confusing fluff.
Clear, intuitive storytelling that makes sense instantly.
Anyone who has felt intimidated or disconnected from traditional tarot decks.
May the Universe bless your life path and show you your way with clarity. :)
